1. Subject and service description
These Terms govern the Place Badge service ("Badge") provided by MapiGO through the management panel available at mapigo.net/panel ("Panel").
The service allows owners or managers of cafés, museums, hotels and other venues to create their own digital badge linked to their location. Once configured, the owner receives a unique QR code — ready to print or order as a waterproof sticker. The sticker is placed physically at the venue (e.g. at the entrance, on the counter, on a table). When a guest visits and scans the QR code with the MapiGO app, the badge is added to their collection on their personal map.
For app users, the Badge is a digital memento of visited places visible on their personal map. For venue owners, it is a free-for-guests way to engage visitors and distinguish their location.
2. Definitions
- Place Badge (POI Badge) – a digital artefact linked to a physical point of interest, collectable in the MapiGO mobile app by scanning a QR code placed at the venue.
- Subscription – a recurring monthly or annual payment to keep the Badge active and visible in the MapiGO app.
- QR Code / QR Sticker – a physical medium (printout or self-adhesive sticker) bearing a unique QR code that allows app users to unlock the Badge.
- POI Owner – the individual or entity holding ownership, tenancy or another legal title entitling them to manage the point of interest and using the Panel.
- Panel – the management panel at mapigo.net/panel used to create badges, manage subscriptions and order stickers.
- MapiGO App – the MapiGO mobile application in which users collect badges by scanning QR codes.
3. Rights to manage the venue
By using the service, the POI Owner declares and warrants that:
- they are the owner, lessee, tenant or hold another legal title to the property or venue where the QR code will be placed, or have explicit written consent from the entitled party to place the QR code there;
- placing the sticker or printout with the QR code complies with any lease agreements, venue regulations and applicable laws;
- the identification and address data provided during registration regarding the venue are accurate and up to date.
If the legal title to the venue changes (e.g. lease termination, sale of the property), the POI Owner must promptly cancel the subscription or notify MapiGO of the change.
4. Activation steps
- Register an account at mapigo.net/panel.
- Create a Badge by selecting your venue on the map and uploading badge artwork.
- Pay the subscription via the secure Stripe payment system.
- Print the QR code or order waterproof stickers (see section 5).
- Place the sticker in a visible, freely accessible location at your venue.
- Submit confirmation photos via the Panel form.
- A MapiGO admin verifies placement – the Badge becomes active in the app.
5. QR stickers – ordering and printing
The POI Owner may obtain a physical QR code medium in two ways:
- Self-print – download a PDF file from the Panel and print it in any format.
- Order stickers – purchase professional self-adhesive stickers via the order form in the Panel. Stickers are available in A6 format (10.5 × 14.8 cm), made from waterproof material resistant to weather and abrasion. Stickers are delivered in sets to the specified address.
Ordering stickers is an optional, one-time paid service independent of the Badge subscription. Detailed pricing and delivery conditions are shown in the Panel during the ordering process.
6. Subscription and payments
The subscription fee is charged in advance on a monthly or annual basis via Stripe and covers:
- keeping the Badge active and visible in the MapiGO app,
- access to Badge unlock statistics,
- Panel access.
The fee is only charged after a MapiGO admin confirms physical placement of the QR sticker. If approval occurs during an ongoing subscription period, the next billing cycle runs normally from the original activation date.
7. Physical approval (admin verification)
After payment the Badge enters "Awaiting Approval" status. The POI Owner must:
- Print or order a QR sticker.
- Place the sticker in a visible location freely accessible to guests.
- Submit confirmation photos via the Panel form.
MapiGO will review the photos and approve activation. Approval may be denied for insufficient evidence or failure to meet these Terms – the POI Owner may then resubmit photos.
8. QR code accessibility – mandatory rules
The POI Owner acknowledges and agrees that:
- The QR code must be placed in a location freely accessible to every guest visiting the venue, without requiring any payment, product purchase, service use, or fulfilment of any other condition.
- The QR code must not be part of a reward, gratuity or payment for any service or product offered by the POI Owner — access to scan the code must not be conditional on making a purchase, participating in a loyalty programme or any other action required by the owner.
- Every guest who physically visits the venue has the right to scan the QR code and earn the Badge without any restrictions imposed by the POI Owner.
Violation of these rules may result in suspension or permanent removal of the Badge without a refund of the paid subscription.
9. Subscription expiry
When the subscription lapses the Badge becomes inactive and invisible to app users. Renewing the subscription immediately restores the Badge without requiring re-approval, provided the QR sticker is still in place.
10. Cancellation and refunds
The POI Owner may cancel the subscription at any time from the Panel (Stripe subscription management section). Cancellation deactivates the Badge at the end of the paid period. Refunds for unused subscription time are not provided unless required by applicable law. Sticker orders are processed as one-time transactions and are non-refundable once submitted for fulfilment, unless production defects occurred.
11. Dispute resolution and ownership verification
In the event of a dispute regarding the right to use a Badge linked to a specific venue (e.g. change of ownership or management, conflict between parties claiming rights to a POI), MapiGO reserves the right to:
- Temporarily suspend the Badge pending resolution of the dispute.
- Request documents from the parties confirming legal title to the venue (e.g. lease agreement, company register extract, power of attorney, written consent of the property owner).
- Permanently transfer or deactivate the Badge based on the submitted documentation.
MapiGO is not a party to the dispute and makes decisions solely on the basis of provided evidence. Each party bears its own costs related to gathering and submitting documentation. Any disputes concerning the service that cannot be resolved amicably shall be settled by the court with jurisdiction over MapiGO's registered seat, in accordance with applicable Polish law.
12. Liability
MapiGO is not liable for damages caused by improper placement of the QR sticker, third-party damage to the sticker, content uploaded by the POI Owner, or consequences of approval denial due to reasons on the POI Owner's side. MapiGO is not liable for consequences arising from false declarations regarding legal title to the venue.
13. Changes to these Terms
MapiGO reserves the right to change these Terms with 14 days' notice by email. Continued use of the service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
